One of my favorite times to visit Disney World is during the spring. Spending Easter at Disney World is extra special because they make it such a magical time with special Disney Easter events, holiday treats, and unique brunches.
Easter tends to be one of the busiest times of year due to many schools having Spring Break either the week prior to Easter Sunday or the week after.
We have found that Easter Day wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be (at Magic Kingdom) and try to make that our park for Easter Sunday.
Disney Easter Celebrations (at the Parks & Resorts)
Wondering how Disney World makes Easter a little more magical than other times of the year?
Easter at Magic Kingdom
At Magic Kingdom, you will be able to meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny.
They appear throughout the day in the “Bunny Lane Garden” in the Town Square Courtyard.
It is a great picture spot to have a family shot taken.
You will also find Azalea Trail Maids throughout the trails leading to Cinderella Castle. These group of 50 high school girls are dressed in bright pastel period dresses with matching parasols.
You can also see the pre-parade featuring Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny, Daisy Duck, Thumper & Ms. Bunny, White Rabbit, Rabbit, Clara Cluck, Hippos, Ostriches, Dancing Chicks and the Azalea Trail Maids
Easter at EPCOT
One of the most popular things to do at Easter in Disney World is the Eggstravaganza Scavenger hunt. Hidden throughout the World Showcase are Easter eggs featuring your favorite Disney characters.
You can purchase Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Maps and stickers at Pin Central, Disney Traders, or World Traveler shops.
While you don’t have to purchase the map to look for the hidden Easter eggs, if you do and locate them all, you can get a free “prize” upon completion.
Disney Easter Treats
This is the one time of year where you will find Easter themed treats at Walt Disney World. There are candy apples, cupcakes and other delicious goodies all themed around Spring!
Easter Coconut Cupcake
Yellow Cake with Key Lime Curd topped with Coconut Buttercream and Fondant Eggs
Springtime Lemon Cheesecake
This Easter treat is actually Lemon Cheesecake topped with Buttercream and Chocolate Eggs.
Easter Activities at the Disney Resorts
All Disney Resorts have activities on Easter day and will vary based on the resort. Some of the things you can look forward to during the holiday are:
- Character Meet & Greets
- Easter Egg Hunts
- Easter arts & craft activities
- Pool games featuring Easter themes
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
One place you need to see when visiting Disney World at Easter is Disney’s Beach Club Resort. You will find the interior lobby filled with beautifully hand decorated chocolate Easter Eggs.
These eggs are decorated to look like popular Disney characters, scenes from Disney movies and each one is totally different!
Along with the Easter Eggs, you will also find a shop filled with lovely gifts you can take home like these giant Mickey & Minnie Mouse Easter eggs!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Just like at Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has a beautiful Disney Easter Egg display.
This display is even larger and takes up the entire resort lobby area. Don’t be surprised if you find people lined up to see them.
