Disney Halloween Cruise: Halloween on the High Seas 2024

If you are a fan of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, you will be glad to know that there is a Disney Halloween Cruise called Halloween on the High Seas that runs each Fall.

It is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween.

Disney Halloween on the High Seas has sailing dates in September and October 2024 on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish.

What Makes a Disney Halloween Cruise Special

Guests can expect both normal cruise fun along with holiday-themed activities like trick-or-treating, costume parties, and Disney Halloween movies.

If you are considering doing a Disney Halloween Cruise, these are some of the things you will find on board:

Disney Halloween Decorations

On board the ship, you will find tons of Halloween decorations! Most of which can be found at the atrium of the cruise ship, but as you walk around, you will find that there are subtle Halloween touches throughout!

You will definitely want to explore to find all the Halloween details, like this carved Minnie Mouse jack-o-lantern.

All the Halloween decor is in good family-friendly taste. There is nothing overly scary or spooky.

Disney Cruise Halloween Decorated Stateroom Door

You will find the halls of the Disney Halloween on the High Seas ships also decorated by cruisers!

Many cruisers will decorate their stateroom doors with Halloween decorations like Disney magnets and Halloween-themed fish extenders. Some go all out!

Disney Enchanted Pumpkin Tree

The Atrium seems to be the hub for all things Halloween.

The first night of your Disney Halloween cruise you will meet in the atrium for the story of the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree.

Told by a pair of enchanted characters, this story has guests taking part in bringing the Pumpkin Tree to life.

It is only done once per cruise and a show you won’t want to miss seeing!

Trick or Treating on a Disney Cruise

Kids are going to love getting treats while on the Disney Halloween cruise!

There will be a trick-or-treating event one night during the Halloween on the High Seas cruise where kids are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes to receive a bag of goodies from castmembers.

This is similar to the candy received during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

There is no need to bring your own candy bag or basket, as one will be provided for you.

And adults, you are invited to get Disney trick or treat candy bags too!

Disney Halloween Cruise Dance Party

Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party

In addition to Pirate Night, Halloween on the High Seas Cruise also has Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party.

This is a time when families can dress up and dance with the Disney characters.

Your kids will definitely want to have their Halloween costumes to wear for this event.

Teen activities on Disney Halloween Cruise

Halloween Teen Activities, Crafts & More

They have family crafts (like mask making) and even Pumpkin Carving contests for teens in the Edge and Vibe.

Spooky Movies

Along with the normal Disney movies that play at Buena Vista Theater, Neverland Cinema and Funnel Vision there will also be Halloween features shown.

You will be able to see movies like Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus 2 and Haunted Mansion!

Halloween Meet & Greets

There are plenty of chances for meet & greet with the characters, but you will most definitely want pictures with the characters dressed in their Halloween Costumes!

They can be found nightly on the Halloween on the High Seas Cruise and typically around the atrium of the ship.

In addition to the Fab Five who make appearances, you can also meet Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow who are dressed up as their favorite Halloween sisters, the Sandersons from the movie “Hocus Pocus.”

Don’t worry if you don’t catch them the night of the Halloween party, they will be dressed up the next morning as well.

Halloween Treats

The entire length of the Disney Halloween Cruise you will find different Halloween Treats.

You can find specialty treats near the coffee shop.

While the coffee is an upcharge, the treats are complimentary!

If you are on the Disney Fantasy or Disney Wish, you can also buy Halloween themed treats at Sweet on You & Joyful Sweets.

Those wanting to celebrate with a little something extra special can add a Halloween Treat gift to be at your room when you arrive.

If you didn’t get to purchase a Disney Halloween popcorn bucket at the park, you will also find them for sale on the Halloween on the High Seas Cruise.

The selection varies and each year the Disney Halloween Popcorn buckets change.

Halloween Merchandise

Just like in the shops at the Disney Theme Parks, you can find Holiday merchandise on board in the gift shops.

The selection is small, but they do carry a number of different types of items.

They have everything from Halloween Spirit Jerseys and T-shirts to Halloween Minnie Ears and Loungefly backpacks.

They even have Disney Halloween home decor items.

What its like on a Disney Halloween Cruise

Overall, Halloween on the High Seas was a great experience!

You will want to make sure that you pack for this cruise by bringing some items to celebrate. We would suggest that you pack Halloween t-shirts, costumes, stateroom door decor along with the items you would bring for Pirate Night as you will have both during a Halloween on the High Seas Cruise.
